Pittsburgh Photographer: First Shoot in the New Studio

Monday, May 27th, 2013

Well, I had my first photo shoot in the new studio. Emily, who has worked with me before, came over and let me play around with the light. She is sooo pretty and a really lovely person.

We started out in the natural light area of the studio.

Next we moved onto some studio lighting. The studio is 2700 square feet so there is a lot of room! I set up a studio lighting area on “The Dark Side” , AKA the opposite end of the room from the windows. If there is one thing I want to convey to my clients this year it is that studio lighting does not have to equal old school and boring!

Finally we headed outside for some sunshine. The studio is surrounded by plenty of great urban shooting areas. Emily rocked a retro look here which I absolutely love!

The studio is located on the 3rd floor of the Heritage Building (middle row of windows) above Benjamin Beetle clothing.

A Few of My Favorite People

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

My business is slowly grinding to a halt for the holidays, as I focus on spending time on my family. I did, however, have two child shoots this past weekend that I wanted to share. I seriously think these kids are the cutest! First “M” who I have been photographing since she was 3 months old!

Here’s a picture I pulled off of my old blog from several years ago.

And now. . .the same beautiful face but looking so grown up!

Next up, a pair of sweet, fun brothers!

Thank you for a wonderful 2011!

It seems a little early to be posting my end of of the year slideshow, but Christmas is just around the corner. I will be closing down from Thanksgiving through New Year’s in order to spend time with my husband and three wonderful kids who sacrifice a lot for me during the busy portrait season of summer and fall. I’m looking forward to baking cookies and doing all of the traditional “mom” things. This also gives me a chance to refresh and recharge. During my winter break I put together my goals and inspirations for the coming year, and I must say, I think 2012 is going to be AMAZING.

A reminder that I will be offering studio mini sessions for seniors on January 16th 2012. Studio does NOT equal boring. It’s going to be a fun day and many local schools are closed, so check your calendars and give me a call!

Retro Style Fashion Shoot with Jessy, Megan, and Lindsey

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

Took a little trip to Ohio and teamed up with Heart and Light Photography and Nicole Kessel Photography to have a fun little 70’s inspired shoot.

And Another One!

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

Another baby post! This beautiful little girl is also the latest addition to a family I have worked with before. There is no better compliment for me than to be asked back to photograph the same family again and again. Portraits can be a large financial investment and there are so many photographers to choose from these days! Being asked to return lets me know my customers are happy, and that brings me a lot of satisfaction.

Baby Love

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

Yes I still photograph babies! I know my blog has been taken over by high school senior portraits and models, but babies are where my business began and they will always be an important part of what I do. I photographed this little guy’s big sister 4 years ago. It’s so wonderful to be able to go back and see one of my newborns become a big brother or, in this case, big sister. As always, click any thumbnail to see the image in a bigger size.

Kally, Senior Portraits, Part II

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

You might remember the session I posted a few months ago of Kally. If not, check it out here. Kally is a competitive swimmer and we wanted a few shots of her doing her thing! But we weren’t able to fit it all into one session, so I went back a few weeks later for some images of her in the water. We had soooo much fun!
