Zach, Senior Spokesmodel, Mars High School, Class of 2013

Tuesday, July 17th, 2012

I was super excited when  Zach’s mom told me he was interested in having an urban senior portrait session. Urban locations offer so much in terms of color and texture and variety. I think a lot of people get nervous when I encourage them to have an urban senior portrait session because they can’t visualize exactly what that means. I hope these images are helpful to anyone considering having an urban session. Just a reminder: if you book either my Essential or Complete Senior Portrait Package you can use more than one location. So you could have part of your shoot in an urban setting, and part of your shoot in a rural location.

Thank you for a wonderful 2011!

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

It seems a little early to be posting my end of of the year slideshow, but Christmas is just around the corner. I will be closing down from Thanksgiving through New Year’s in order to spend time with my husband and three wonderful kids who sacrifice a lot for me during the busy portrait season of summer and fall. I’m looking forward to baking cookies and doing all of the traditional “mom” things. This also gives me a chance to refresh and recharge. During my winter break I put together my goals and inspirations for the coming year, and I must say, I think 2012 is going to be AMAZING.

A reminder that I will be offering studio mini sessions for seniors on January 16th 2012. Studio does NOT equal boring. It’s going to be a fun day and many local schools are closed, so check your calendars and give me a call!

Rachel, Montour High School, Class of 2012

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged Rachel’s senior portraits yet! We had an amazing session. Rachel was easy to work with and she came prepared with plenty of outfits and ideas. One of the things I loved about her senior portrait session was that she did the leg work ahead of time and had some super locations picked out for us to use.

Trying the new gallery feature on the blog, so you’ll have to click on the thumbnails to see bigger images. Don’t forget to check out the one of her with the umbrella!

Kally, North Allegheny, Class of 2012

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Kally is really a stunning looking girl and I hope I was able to do her justice with these senior portraits. She is also a swimmer and I am very excited to be doing a small mini session with her next week at the pool. Until then, part 1. . .

I love, love, LOVE this first one. The wind was so nice to blow in the right direction for us. It doesn’t always cooperate like that.

Luke, Urban Senior Portraits, Class of 2012

Sunday, June 26th, 2011

Luke is the younger brother of 2011 senior Lanie who I photographed last summer. Like Lanie, Luke wanted urban senior portraits, which is always a ton of fun for me as I get to try new locations.

Megan Part 2 (Senior Spokesmodel for Slippery Rock)

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

My session with Megan was interrupted due to weather, so I went back two days later for some more images and I am so glad I did! They turned out amazing. We literally stopped traffic a couple of times, but thankfully we managed not to get arrested or run over, although we did get some strange looks and funny comments!

Megan/Senior Spokesmodel/Slippery Rock/Class of 2012

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

I’ve known Megan for several years. When she was a little girl our families attended the same church. Then about 6 years ago, Megan moved to Slippery Rock and I didn’t see her at all after that. Imagine my surprise when this grown up, beautiful, young lady found me on facebook recently! I was delighted to accept her as my senior spokesmodel for Slippery Rock High School.

Megan and I had a fun portrait session driving around to different locations in Slippery Rock. I especially love finding locations that are new and not being used by a lot of other photographers and I think we managed to find one of those. Unfortunately, the storm clouds moved in so this is only “Part 1” of our session. We will be continuing it in the next few days. I have a lot more ideas for Megan. Until then. . .
