Laura

Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013

Laura is a sweet and funny girl I met at church. She often leads worship and this past summer she spent some time doing mission work in Nicaragua. You can read about her amazing adventures here: Passport Nicaragua. When she left Nicaragua, she left several things behind (on purpose), including her guitar! That’s just the kind of person she is. When I saw she received a new Martin guitar as a gift, I asked her if she would let me photograph her. We finally had time to have a little shoot earlier this week. Laura is always laughing and smiling and usually surrounded by kids. They are just drawn to her. I hope I managed to capture just a little bit of who she is in these pictures.

Personal Favorites: Storm 7-22-11

Last night my session was rained out due the coming storm. I stopped on the way home and got this shot. I love the golden fields around here at this time of year and the deep blue sky makes them even more vivid.

South Dakota. . .I love the wide open grasslands of the west. I would LOVE to be able to shoot senior portraits at this location!

Today is my birthday. What better day to start something new! Once per week I plan to share a few images from my personal portfolio.  And by personal, I mean images I created just for myself, not necessarily pictures OF myself:)

maxblogMeet Max (aka Maximum Cuteness or possibly Maximum Craziness). Max joined our family last fall. My daughter begged me for a puppy for two years. I absolutely love this picture of him and yes, it is framed and hanging on my living room wall.

They don’t stay that size for long though. Here is a more recent picture of Max. At 9 months he is still a puppy at heart, just in a much bigger body. We really have our hands full with Max and his endless supply of energy. But we couldn’t ask for a more loving dog. If anyone should break into the house, I think he would simply lick them to death!
