Fall Schedule

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

Seniors: Starting in November and continuing throughout the winter, senior portrait sessions will have to move into the studio here in Butler, PA. If the weather is nice, we can make the adjustment and go outside, but for planning purposes we should plan on a studio shoot because we just have no way of knowing at the time of booking if the weather will cooperate. The studio is near some neat urban areas so even if it is cold, we can probably pop outside for a few minutes to get some urban shots. We are also doing some work to the studio to make sure your studio portraits are unique and reflect the same modern yet natural style you see in my outdoor work.

Outdoor senior portraits are typically scheduled for weekday afternoons after school.  Studio Senior sessions are scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturday only (day or evening). There are no Saturdays left in September or October.

Families: I have no more weekend dates left in September or October. I do not plan to do outdoor family Christmas card sessions in November due to weather issues, but I can photograph babies or children(siblings) in the studio  or in your home. The studio is not really large enough for families or groups.  The absolute cut off for having a Christmas portrait session for your baby or child is November 15th.

Connie and Cindy: Pittsburgh Senior Portraits, Class of 2010

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

This month is the height of senior portrait season for me and it has been a whirlwind. I’ve been dying to share this amazing session from a few weeks ago. Connie and Cindy are as lovely on the inside as they are on the outside. We had quite an adventure trying to get their session in. We started in Oakland on a beautiful sunny day and then were caught in a sudden storm that sent us running for cover (this seems to be a theme this summer).

Rita: Senior Portraits, Class of 2010

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Before I head off for my weekend camping trip, I have time for a proper sneak peek of Rita who I shared briefly last night. First of all, I LOVE HER HAIR. Second of all, Rita is a very talented young woman. She is a triple threat (dances, sings, and acts) who intends to persue a career in musical theater. People always ask me if I like shooting seniors and I always tell them the truth. I love working with seniors! And then, of course, the next question is why. I think it is the promise and potential I see in every young person I work with. I love hearing about their aspirations.  I love their enthusiasm for the future. And in Rita’s case, I also love her determination. I have no doubt she will get into a great college and she will have a career on stage.

Rita, it was great meeting you and your mom. Enjoy your sneak peek!

A bit of old Hollywood  here?

I should be in bed. . .

. . .but this one image caught my eye and I had to share.

Much more from this senior and several others when I return from my weekend camping trip.

Check out these big beautiful brown eyes!

She didn’t want her hair up, but her dad likes it that way so she did it for him. How sweet is that?

Stephanie

When I was in North Carolina last month, I had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie of La Lumiere Photography. Stephanie wanted a few portraits of herself to give to her husband who will very soon be returning to Iraq. Our session was cut short due to rain, but we did get to sit and drink coffee and talk shop which was such a nice treat for me. Stephanie, I’m sorry these took so long. You are beautiful and I am so glad I got to meet you!

Hannah: Senior Portraits, Class of 2010

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

It’s my son’s birthday today so there is a lot of family stuff going on, but I wanted to be sure to get a sneak peek up for Hannah. Hannah is as lovely on the inside as she is on the outside.  I think I have mentioned before on the blog that I love shooting in fields and that I am always the look out for fields. When I arrived at Hannah’s house, I was surprised and thrilled to find a huge field right at the end of her yard.

Then we visited her neighbor’s barn (I love it when my clients find me great spots all on their own).

Seriously. . .these eyes. Amazing!

Finally, we finished up at the park where Hannah (and her mom) played when they were kids.

Another beautiful senior! I don’t find them, they just find me.

I seriously have the nicest clients. I think this a lot to myself, but I rarely ever say it to anyone else. But it’s true! I really do. Hannah was no exception. She brought TWO parents with her, which I admit made me a bit worried, but they were awesome to have around. Hannah is not only very pretty and very smart, but she has a big heart as well. She does volunteer work at Children’s Hospital and hopes to persue a career helping kids as well.
