Kayla: Senior Portraits II, studio work

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Last night I had my first studio session since moving into the studio space. Although I moved in a month ago, this time of year I am primarily shooting outdoors. I wanted to get some studio work up on the blog so that late booking seniors (you know who you are, stop procrastinating!) could see that cold weather doesn’t have to prevent them from having amazing senior portraits. You might remember Kayla from the first part of her session last month.  And here she is in studio.

Abby: Senior Session, Class of 2010

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Well, for once it wasn’t raining (all of my sessions have been under the threat of rain lately), but it hot and muggy! Abby, her mom, and I persevered and somehow Abby managed to look beautiful through it all.

Natalie: Senior Session, Class of 2010

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Natalie and I were beginning to think her session would never happen. She was originally scheduled for June, but we got rained out. So we rescheduled for July 21. Rained out again.  We rescheduled for this morning and of course I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of what else but a torrential downpour! I was certain the session would not take place today, but when I checked the radar at 6am I was surprised to see a small window of opportunity. We decided to give it a try and I would like to say the weather cooperated, but we did in fact get rained on more than once.  However, Natalie’s beautiful smile and amazing blue eyes brought a bit of sunshine to the session. Natalie, I am so glad I finally got to meet you in person. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Home Again

Monday, July 20th, 2009

We’re back from a wonderful week in North Caroline. Senior season is upon me, so I am hitting the ground running. My children don’t really cooperate for photographs (photographer’s child syndrome) but I did manage to get in a few snapshots of our time together. Seeing my kids run free at the beach makes me very, very happy:)

This is pretty typical of what happens when we try to do “portraits.”

Maternity Session: LaDawn

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Sharing a few from a recent maternity session.

A sample of a 10 inch by 20 inch collage. Collages are easily the most popular item I offer!

I offer a special session fee if you book both a maternity and newborn session. Please call or email for details. The best time for your maternity session is around 32 weeks.

Happy Birthday, Miss Fourth of July

Friday, July 3rd, 2009

It’s been two years since I first met this little one whose birthday is on the Fourth of July. She is my most frequently photographed subject, perhaps even more than my own children. It’s been a while since I saw her last, so I was thrilled to be able to photographer her for her second birthday. First, to refresh your memory.

And her most recent session. She just keeps getting even more beautiful!
