The Reason “One” Rhymes with Fun and Run

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

What a work out! This little guy just turned one and he was far too busy and curious to put up with me trying to make him stay in one spot. We let him loose to explore and he just kept going and going and going until he wore himself out.  The results? So many adorable images I had a hard time deciding which ones to share on the blog.

Senior Portraits

Wednesday, February 18th, 2009

It’s not too early to start thinking about 2010 Senior Portraits. The best time for next year’s seniors to have their portraits done is the summer before their senior year. I typically start shooting senior portraits in May and continue throughout the summer and into the fall (many schools have an early November deadline for yearbook pictures). Since I book about 4 weeks in advance during my slow time of year (January through April) and as much as 8 weeks in advance during my busy time of the year (May through November) the time to think about booking is right around the corner.

Even if your school requires the yearbook picture to come from a specific studio, such as Lifetouch, you can still come to me for a custom portrait session. This past year, several of my senior clients had their yearbook picture shot by the studio required by the school and followed up with a fun and unique session with me.

I currently have two options for senior portraits.

The Mini Senior Session lasts 30-60 minutes and takes place in Butler County at a single location. One clothing change is allowed at a mini-session. When you book a mini-session I will give you a few location options for you to chose from. Urban sessions work great as mini sessions!

My Standard Senior Session is for the teen who is looking for creative and unique portraits that stand out from the crowd. This session lasts 1-3 hours and includes as many clothing changes as you want, as well as travel to multiple locations within the greater Pittsburgh region if desired (for instance, a combination of rural and urban locations). I am very excited to announce that the Standard Session can be shared with a friend! This is a great way to get the variety of the standard session for less. You can split the session fee and the print packages however you want. And it’s fun!

Cowboy

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

No sessions this weekend. My husband competed in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Barista Championship (um, cool people making fancy coffee and stuff) and I took the weekend off to support him. I found a new chair the other day  (translation: I was driving by someone’s trash and saw a cool chair and made my husband go back and get it for me) and gave it a try with a bit of help from the cowboy.

For the photogs. . .off camera flash in a small softbox.

The cowboy ran for greener pastures so I rounded up a couple more subjects.

It’s 50 degrees here! We’re off for a walk in the woods. Have a great weekend.
