To Everything There is a Season

March 8th, 2014

As of March 2014 I am not longer accepting any new clients. At some point, I will write a much longer post about me, my business, and my plans for the future. For now, I am just letting everyone know that I will not be taking on any new clients. Current clients may still contact me via phone or email to finish selecting their senior portraits.  Online proof  galleries will remain online until the end of the school year. Please don’t worry if this post sounds ominous. There is nothing tragic going on. I am just making some much needed changes. Love,  Bonnie

Happy Halloween: Pittsburgh Child and Family Portraits

October 31st, 2013

Happy Halloween!

October 23rd, 2013

Laura is a sweet and funny girl I met at church. She often leads worship and this past summer she spent some time doing mission work in Nicaragua. You can read about her amazing adventures here: Passport Nicaragua. When she left Nicaragua, she left several things behind (on purpose), including her guitar! That’s just the kind of person she is. When I saw she received a new Martin guitar as a gift, I asked her if she would let me photograph her. We finally had time to have a little shoot earlier this week. Laura is always laughing and smiling and usually surrounded by kids. They are just drawn to her. I hope I managed to capture just a little bit of who she is in these pictures.

This little boy happens to be my youngest son. He is a great source of joy to me. Not a day goes by that he doesn’t make me smile.

Newborn Portrait Photographer in Pittsburgh

October 19th, 2013

From my blog posts, it may appear that senior portraits are all I photograph. But my roots are actually in Child and Family Portraits. Photographing newborns will always be a great love of mine, although I will admit they are a bit more challenging than a 17 year old. This week, I had a 1 week old at the studio for some pictures. 7 pounds of sweetness and love.

I love back wrinkles!

Pittsburgh Child and Family Portraits

October 14th, 2013

Fall color means family and kids in the portrait business. I love these cool, colorful autumn days but I love seeing the familiar faces of my family clients even more!

Serious cuteness! Their mom wanted their pictures to have a vintage feel. Love the hat and the vest!

So I just so happens that the grandfather of these sweet kids was a vintage car collector. I am told the Ford we used is very, very rare.

Pittsburgh Senior Portrait Photographer

October 10th, 2013

Wow! I survived September. This past month was definitely the busiest and craziest month ever for my photography business. Sooooo many seniors! October is proving to be more manageable. I am still photographing seniors, but the weekends have switched to family portraits. I will be sharing some of those images soon. In the meantime, here are some recent seniors. I still have a few dates left on the calendar if you have not scheduled your senior portraits yet.  For those of you who just need a yearbook pictures, I do have some special rates for studio yearbook sessions. Please email me at info@bonnieburmanphotography.com for more details.

Alexis rocked her shoot! Sometimes it’s just really hard to settle on one image to showcase. I will definitely be sharing more of her images later.

I loved Rachael’s curly red hair and we she announced she brought her guitar I think I might have squealed with delight. I love when seniors bring instruments to their shoots.

Tessa and her mom were a blast. They had a ton of idea for the shoot and made sure to share them with me ahead of time so we could plan accordingly.  Tessa really wanted “the chair shot”, but finding a road with a yellow line that wasn’t like Grand Central Station was a bit of a challenge. Tessa finally remembered this lightly traveled road from her bus route. I love how this turned out. And please, be cautious when doing pictures on roads. Safety is ALWAYS the top priority for me.

Tyler is Tessa’s brother.  I love everything about this, his expression, the glasses, the rolled cuffs, the loosened tie. I really appreciate the fact that Tyler let his mom and me make him all GQ. He was just an all around great young man to work with.

What I didn’t mention is that Tessa and Tyler are twins!

Talia. Eyes. Amazing. Do I really need to say anything else about this?

Sara was such a sweetheart to work with and had great style.  This is a spot I usually cannot use in the afternoon because the light is coming from the wrong direction. But we ended up with an extremely overcast day which worked in our favor. I love how this turned out.

Senior Portrait Photographer in Pittsburgh, September Update.

September 9th, 2013

Just a quick update with some recent senior portrait shoots. Senior season is in HIGH GEAR and I am out shooting sessions almost every day. September is full, but I do have some openings left in October.

First up Shelby. I photographed Shelby’s sister Kady 2 years ago when Shelby was a little tenth grader following us around. So great to get to know Shelby and see what a beautiful young lady she has become. LOVE, love, love the sun here. I will call 2013 the year I finally mastered sun flare.

Yes, I do photograph boys! Will the the younger sibling of previous senior portrait seniors Luke and Lainy. He wanted something “different” so we did a twilight shoot in Pittsburgh.

Angela! Wow her eyes were amazing and this girl knew how to pose. Loved her hair, her clothing. Loved everything about her shoot!

Hannah wanted studio, urban, and natural settings. I love sessions with tons of variety. She texted me pictures of her clothing selections ahead of time, and I knew the vintage suitcases would work great with her chevron dress. I am planning on purchasing this image as a HUGE canvas and hanging it in the studio.

Brittany is majorly talented. We photographed her with two different instruments, and her in ballet clothes. Love these dreamy, amazing, Disney-esque shots.

So I don’t really ride (well a little), but I am a huge horse lover. I have dying to photograph a senior with a horse. This image is pure serendipity for me. Beautiful girl. Perfect dress. Gorgeous horse. And amazing light. It makes my heart happy.

Another boy! Had to get up early for this one but I loved working with Ryan and visiting with his mom who I met last year when I photographed her older son, Cole.

Ok, I will sneak in a couple of non-seniors. Kelsey was one of my seniors 4 years ago and we got together over the summer to photograph her before law school. You can plan on seeing this one enlarged and in my senior as well.

And finally, Megan, my beautiful niece came to visit me for the entire month of July before she moved to Florida.  Of course, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to have her model for me.
